High school student journalists share stories of Downtown El Paso

Students participating in the 2017 Journalism in July Workshop July 9-16 at UT El Paso took their cameras, audio recorders and notebooks to Downtown to get a look at the stories from the heart of our city. The students began their training on the UT El Paso campus with lectures and demonstrations on traditional newsgathering and new multimedia skills taught by professors and area news professionals. Then they went into field to apply their new skills in professional news reporting followed by video editing and web posting. See a collection of their stories in the section below.
