President-elect Donald J. Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame continues to be defaced likely by people who are either unhappy that he is going to be the next president and comment he made during the campaign that were deemed inflammatory.

As a result, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has had to cover up Trump’s star to prevent others from defacing it again. “We regret that someone would deface a historic landmark,” said Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president and CEO in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

“People who have a disagreement with Trump should not take it out on the Walk of Fame. The star will be restored to its original condition as soon as possible,” Gubler said.

Trump got his wall when someone build a miniature wall around his star on the Walk of Fame. L.A. street artist Plastic Jesus erected a small concrete wall – topped with razor wire – around the reality TV and business tycoon’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Republican s plan to build a wall on the Mexican border, and force the country to pay for it, has repeatedly been a campaign promise.

The incident which caused the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to cover up Trump’s star was when James Otis was arrested for the vandalizing the star by hitting it with a sledgehammer and a pick ax.

The man said he wanted to auction the star and raise money on behalf of the nearly dozen women who have accused Trump of unwarranted advances.

“I just sort of had enough with Mr. Trump’s aggressive language toward women and his behavior, his sexual violence with women and against women,” Otis said. “I’ve had personally in my own family four people who have been assaulted or have had sexual violence happen to them. It all became very personal.”

It’s unfortunate that people are resorting to defacing Trump’s star because they are unable to express their feelings any other way. But it’s better than committing more serious crimes like vandalizing businesses.

I also find it funny that the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has decided to cover the star not fix it because they say people will just continue to deface it.

It’s better for them to keep the star protected by a piece of wood, which people can express their frustration by tagging the board rather than erecting new stars every time its damaged.
