Sofía Isabel Chávez Barroso was born and raised in Torreón, Coahuila, México. There she attended Colegio Americano de Torreón since kindergarten all the way to high-school. She moved to El Paso in the fall of 2005 to attend The University of Texas at El Paso. Majoring in Electronic Media with a minor in General Business, Sofía expects to graduate in May of 2010. Upon receiving her bachelor's Sofia plans to go to graduate school, although she has no make final decision of where. Sofia works as an advertising representative for The Prospector Newspaper at UTEP. She is part of the Cross Cultural Communication club, Designers and Advertising representatives in Print, National Communication Association and of several honor societies. Her career goal is to work in the television/film industry, and create and manage a worldwide non-profit organization. For Sofia life is like a simple game of poker you have to go all in or you will never win.
